alone, again, I take
one more step, then
fall to my knees
my eyes and face turned
towards heaven
my arms streched out
crucified
head bent back
pleading
the desert sun shines downs cynically
smirking at this pathetic progress
the coarse sand bites
into my knees
the blood rushes from my head
and pulses through my body
overcome by the thirst
the hunger and pain
I fall back, sliding
down the dune
at the bottom I rest
still looking up at
the sky, empty, but
for the ball of blazing fire
that beats down upon me
alone in the desert of opression
forgotten in the dunes of time
changing, shifting, dying
forever
